Safe Space – Low-Poly Tavern Environment (3D & Motion Study)

Safe Space is a stylised low-poly 3D environment inspired by a medieval tavern. The project focuses on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere through simplified geometry, controlled lighting, and a cohesive colour palette. Rather than relying on characters, the scene explores environmental storytelling using props, lighting placement, and composition. It is designed both as a set of high-quality static renders and as a foundation for camera movement and motion, making it suitable for games, cinematics, or illustrative world-building.

The creative direction aimed to evoke a calm, lived-in “safe place” that feels believable while remaining visually clean and stylised. Soft shadows, warm lantern light, and earthy materials help establish comfort and mood, while clear silhouettes and readable forms ensure the scene works well for real-time applications.

Technically, the project uses a low-poly, modular workflow with custom-made assets such as lanterns, stools, canopy elements, and environmental props. Simple shaders are used to emphasise colour and form rather than surface complexity. Alongside still renders, the project includes motion tests and camera animation progress, allowing evaluation of lighting consistency, depth, and visual clarity in movement.
