Fragmented Identity
Fragmented Identity
This piece explores identity, perception, and digital fragmentation through layered portrait forms. Multiple faces overlap and dissolve into one another, creating a sense of motion and instability, as if the image is caught between recognition and abstraction.
The work combines glitch-inspired line patterns, bold colour separation, and high-contrast negative space. Cyan, magenta, and red tones intersect with white voids, breaking the human form into data-like structures. The result sits between figurative and abstract, reflecting how digital processes can distort, duplicate, and reframe identity.
Rather than presenting a single subject, the composition suggests multiple states of self, existing simultaneously. The visual noise and repetition are intentional, emphasising tension between clarity and disruption, control and chaos.
